Every home we build is unique, however our BuildEASY process won't overwhelm you.  Here's a rough idea of how the home building and customization process works.

Step 1 - Discovering Your Dreams
What locations? Three bedrooms or five? Formal living room, den, or... no wait, a kids play room? Tell us what your family needs, how you live, and what you're looking for. We'll listen and take notes so we can help you determine exactly what kind of home you're looking for! Not sure where to start? Ask Sara, our online new home specialist. 

Step 2 - Home Design Evaluation & Customization
We will show you home designs that fit your needs and your budget, and work with you to customize and personalize them to fit your unique tastes. From entirely custom homes, to re-drawing the second floor, to moving a window two feet to the right - we can do it all. 

Step 3 - Home Site Selection
Now we work with you to select the best home site for your individual home design. Deck or patio? Morning sun or evening sun? Our sales managers will help you determine the best marriage of home and home site for you. 

Step 4 - Sales Agreement
We put it all together on paper for you to review and claim it as your own. This secures your home site and allows us to begin working on obtaining building permits and prep work. 

Step 5 - Design Details
This is everyone's favorite part (maybe her favorite part). Pick your countertop color, cabinet style, hardwood stain color, appliance package, etc. All the small decorating details that make your house a home. 

Step 6 - Home Construction
Your home is built and supervised by a Heartland construction manager and professional subcontractors using name brand materials. Many of our subcontractors have been with us since the beginning - over 25 years ago! Your home will also undergo regular third party inspections to ensure we exceed Energy Star requirements. 

Step 7 - Move In
It's here before you know it - move in day! You're moving in, but Heartland isn't moving out. We have a full time warranty department ready to assist you, and upcoming community parties and events to help you meet your neighbors.
